Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Perform and provide technical assistance to Inspection Team in all activities related to inspection of Pipelines,
above ground piping and static equipment in Pipeline Network Division and conducting Non Destructive Testing
where ever required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Inspection and Technical Support
u2022 Perform inspection activities in line with Inspection Procedures, HSE Management System,
Maintenance and Inspection Policies.
u2022 Analyse, interpret and report all IPS report results. Assess and identify the condition of pipeline based
on corrosion and reported defects. Perform dig verifications as per yearly plan and based on IPS results
independently and along with IPS contractors.
u2022 Perform Internal and external corrosion mapping of pipeline
u2022 Implement and record all dig verification data in PIMS software.
u2022 Co-ordinate and support to GIS engineer for the implementation of PIMS software within the Pipeline
Division.
u2022 Coordinate with specialized inspection contractors in the survey of IPS, UT Scanning and
retrieval/analysis of corrosion monitoring systems on the pipelines.
u2022 Follow-up execution of pipeline repairs (Online sleeve welding as well as composite repairs),
modifications/MOC, materials selection, welding inspection, painting, coating and wrapping activities.
u2022 Perform on stream visual inspections for all above ground piping inside the CRS, SV stations and
Launcher/Receiver.
u2022 Able to Perform UT thickness monitoring and scanning for above ground piping.
u2022 Review/prepare Field drawings for extended above ground assets for baseline UT survey.
u2022 Survey and provide estimate for above ground facility and witness/attend the Painting activities as per
RFI's.
u2022 Inspect/witness the shutdown activities (Pipelines/plant).
u2022 Participate in Level 1/2 audit for pipelines assets.
u2022 Participate in BMS internal audit with Audit Team.
u2022 Review Project documents and perform end user inspections during new projects including Final Walk
down and system punch list based on final approved P & ID.
u2022 Perform main line valve testing inspection as per international code and company specification.
u2022 Perform PSVu2019s calibration, maintain and update the records in Maximo.
u2022 Monitor all critical activities at site during Hot Tapping (Fit-up of Split Tee, Online welding and drilling
activities) on the pipelines. Review of Hot Tap documents submitted by contractors to ensure strict code
compliance.
u2022 Perform relevant test requirements prior to final acceptance by the Inspection Section Head.
u2022 Maintain and update the Inspection section filing and Work Orders in the SAP Maintenance
Management System.
u2022 Maintain and update the Digitized radiograph management system.
u2022 Participate in identification of areas of concern analyses.
u2022 Monitor Piping cleaning pigging, Gauging, and ILI inspection.
u2022 Monitor temporary composite repairs and sleeve welding.
u2022 Attend/ supervise pre-commissioning activity of new projects like swabbing, drying and purging.
u2022 Attend/ supervise the Advanced NDT and perform the conventional NDT.
u2022 Attend/ supervise the laboratory destructive testing.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
u2022 Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgy Technology or equivalent Professional Qualification.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
u2022 5 years of experience in inspection and corrosion prevention for pipeline, within a large industrial
organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
u2022 Relevant professional certifications in Welding (AWS, CSWIP3.1) API 570, 653, 510, 579, NACE or
BGAS and Lead Auditor (Preferable).
u2022 Knowledge and experience in Pipeline Integrity Management system software (PIMS) will be consider
as an extra advantage.
u2022 Working knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding, standards and legislation associated
with the inspection of plant and equipment and be familiar with QA/QC systems and procedures
u2022 Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices and technology trends, especially in the pipeline
integrity area
u2022 Technical ability in understanding codes, standards and inspection methods
u2022 Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices
u2022 Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording

u2022 ASNT SNT-TC-1A NDT level II in RT, UT, PT, MT
