SUPERVISOR INSTRUMENT

3 Year Diploma in Instrumentation / Electronics Eng.

  • Minimum of 8- years practical experience in maintenance of process control instruments in oil refinery/Petrochemical plants/Fertilizers
  • Good working (practical) knowledge about various process control instruments and skill to check, calibrate and repair them up to the DCS system. Should have a good knowledge on the DCS Honeywell system.

  • SUPERVISOR- INSTRUMENT MAINTENANCE (SINST)
  • 1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION
  • 1.1 Perform and direct maintenance & repair of instruments / equipments in allocated area (field/Control room).
  • 1.2 Direct Foremen, mechanics on day to day routines and P.M. programmes. Assist where necessary. Carry out any modifications requested.
  • 1.3 Assist Engineer in preparing daily/monthly progress reports.
  • 1.4 Requisition instrument spare parts, tools and test equipment.
  • 1.5 Request assistance if deemed necessary during the execution of the job (Normal / Annual Overhaul / GRTA).
  • 1.6 Perform proper handover of unfinished priority work when shift is completed.
  • 2.0 QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three years (Full time course) Diploma in Instrumentation / Electronics Engg. from a recognized technical institution or from a polytechnic.
  • 3.0 EXPERIENCE
  • 3.1 Minimum of 8 (eight) years practical experience in maintenance of process control instruments in oil refinery/Petrochemical plants/Fertilizers.
  • 3.2 Good working (practical) knowledge about various process control instruments and skill to check, calibrate and repair them up to the DCS system. Should have a good knowledge on the DCS Honeywell system.
  • 3.3 Understanding of area classification and safety requirements.
  • 3.4 Capable of reading and understanding P & ID s, schematic, logic single line wiring diagrams/drawings.
  • 3.5 Working knowledge and understanding of Digital Electronics basics and able to use Electronic test equipment for trouble-shooting / testing purposes. Good knowledge in DCS, PLC and ESDs of major international makes.
  • 3.6 Working knowledge and understanding of various types of tank gauging systems like SAAB.
  • 3.7 Gulf driving license is preferred.
  • 4.0 SUPERVISORY CAPABILITIES
  • 4.1 Able to direct and control subordinate staff and jobs in his area.
  • 4.2 Direct work of his men and serve as head man in his area of responsibility.
  • 4.3 Ensure availability of tools and use of safety gear for himself and his men.
  • 4.4 Mindful of safety of the crew and himself and follow all safety regulations on the job.
