About the Role: The Integration and Data Engineer acts as the bridge between the hospital's core systems and its AI-driven future. You will design and manage the data pipelines that fuel our AI models. This involves using Rhapsody and BizTalk to feed real-time clinical events into AI inference engines, and leveraging Microsoft Fabric to curate high-quality training datasets from Epic Clarity. You will work side-by-side with AI Engineers to develop, deploy, and monitor predictive models and GenAI applications.

What you'll do:

1. AI & Machine Learning Data Support

  • Partner with AI Engineers to perform feature engineering, identifying, extracting, and transforming clinical and non-clinical data from Epic and downstream systems for ML readiness.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of Vector Databases in Microsoft Fabric to enable Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for clinical and enterprise LLM use cases.
  • Configure Rhapsody / BizTalk to trigger real-time AI model scoring based on HL7 events.
  • Design data pipelines to capture AI model outputs and integrate them into clinical workflows and monitoring dashboards for performance tracking and governance.

2. Advanced Integration & Interoperability

  • Build and maintain high-velocity, real-time interfaces using Rhapsody and BizTalk to support AI monitoring and telemetry-driven use cases.
  • Map and normalize legacy and heterogeneous data formats into standardized, AI-ready schemas to ensure data quality, consistency, and interoperability.

3. Data Engineering & Microsoft Fabric Ecosystem

  • Design and optimize Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse architectures tailored for AI training, experimentation, and historical analysis.
  • Perform advanced Epic Clarity data extraction to create longitudinal patient datasets for retrospective AI model validation.
  • Automate end-to-end pipelines using Fabric Data Factory to refresh AI training datasets and mitigate data drift.

What you'll bring:
