Job Description

About swypex

swypex is transforming financial management for businesses with a seamless, intuitive, and unified platform. We are redefining outdated, complex systems to empower businesses with real-time visibility, control, and efficiency.

About the Role

swypex is hiring an Integrations Engineer to own the surface area where our platform meets the rest of our customers financial stack, their ERPs, their accounting tools, and the internal workflows our own operations, finance, and compliance teams run every day.

This is a hands-on role that blends product engineering with internal tooling. You will build and maintain the ERP integrations our customers rely on (Alloy, Odoo, and more), ship internal admin apps in Appsmith and Budibase, automate repetitive workflows for internal teams, and occasionally help external developers integrating with our Partner API.

You'll work closely with backend engineers, operations, customer success, and finance, and your work will be felt directly by every customer that touches swypex.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain ERP integrations. Design, build, and operate integrations between swypex and the ERPs our customers use, Alloy, Odoo, and others as we grow. Own data modeling, sync reliability, credential and webhook management, and the monitoring that surfaces issues before customers do.
  • Ship internal tools in Appsmith and Budibase. Build new admin apps against our internal API and evolve the ones our operations, finance, compliance, and support teams already depend on. Treat these tools as first-class engineering work, versioned, reviewed, and reliable.
  • Automate internal workflows. Identify repetitive or error-prone work across internal teams and replace it with thoughtful automation that scales with the business.
  • Support Partner API customers. Help external developers integrating with our Partner API, review their questions, spot gaps in our docs and SDKs, and feed issues back to the core API team. Volume is low, but quality matters.
  • Own the integrations roadmap. Partner with product, operations, and customer-facing teams to prioritize which integrations to build next, and how.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in at least one modern backend language. TypeScript/Node, Python, Kotlin/Java, or similar. You don't need to know our exact stack on day one, but you should pick up new languages and frameworks quickly.
  • Solid working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication patterns (OAuth, API keys, HMAC signatures) plus the failure modes that show up when two systems try to stay in sync.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and the ability to write SQL you'd be comfortable running in production.
  • A product-minded approach to internal tools. You care about the people using what you build, even when they sit one desk away.
  • Clear written communication. A meaningful part of this role is documenting integrations, writing runbooks, and explaining tricky behavior to non-engineers.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience integrating with or building on top of ERP systems; Odoo, Alloy, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Exposure to fintech, payments, cards, or accounting domains, general ledger concepts, reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping, or card processing flows.
  • Experience building internal tools with low-code platforms (Appsmith, Budibase, Retool, or similar).
