Role: Interim Chief Financial Officer/Advisor - PIF subsidiary (23 Year Mandate)
Overview of the Position: -
The Interim Chief Financial Officer / Advisor is a senior executive role responsible for leading the organization's financial advisory function, covering financial strategy, cash flow optimisation, investment analysis, capital planning, governance, risk management, and leadership development. This position provides high-level financial leadership to the Executive Team and Board, enabling informed strategic decisions and long-term financial sustainability. The ideal candidate is an experienced expat executive with a proven track record in large-scale cashflow management, financial controls, and advisory leadership within major organizations.
Key Responsibilities: -
1. Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Lead the development of the organization's financial advisory strategy and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Provide expert counsel to senior leadership on financial planning, investment opportunities, capital structuring, and long-term financial direction.
- Drive financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario planning to support data-driven strategic decisions.
2. Cashflow & Financial Control Excellence:
- Oversee end-to-end cashflow planning, forecasting, monitoring, and optimization for a large and complex organization.
- Establish and enhance advanced financial controls, governance frameworks, and internal audit readiness protocols.
- Ensure strong treasury management, working capital strategies, and liquidity oversight to maintain financial resilience.
3. Business Advisory & Executive Support
- Act as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO and Board, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations on key financial initiatives.
- Partner with business units to assess feasibility, financial impact, and ROI for strategic projects, ventures, and expansions.
- Lead financial due diligence, valuations, and advisory support for M&A, partnerships, and investment evaluations.
4. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all financial advisory activities comply with regulatory, audit, internal control, and risk management requirements.
- Design and implement financial risk mitigation strategies across the enterprise.
- Drive transparency, structured reporting, and robust documentation to support informed decision-making.
5. Leadership & Capability Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing financial advisory team with strong analytical and strategic capabilities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, financial discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the organization in key financial negotiations, investor discussions, and external advisory engagements.
Qualifications & Experience: -
Required:
- A minimum of 18 years of progressive financial experience, with the recent 7 years in a senior/executive leadership role with decision-making influence.
- Demonstrated ability to lead Financial Advisory functions, strategic planning, forecasting, and complex financial analysis.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale cash flow, financial control systems, and governance frameworks in major organizations.
- Proven international experience, demonstrating the ability to grow in a multi-cultural environment.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, CMA, or others.
- Experience advising Boards, CEOs, or Executive Committees.
