Position Overview:
The Interior Design Manager plays a pivotal role in managing both the creative and technical aspects of interior design projects from concept to completion. Working closely with the Head of Interior Design, this role is responsible for leading the design development, managing detailed technical documentation, and overseeing on-site execution to ensure design integrity, quality, and timely delivery.
The successful candidate will bridge the gap between design intent and construction realitycoordinating with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to translate design concepts into fully realized spaces that reflect DarGlobal's standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Technical Leadership
- Lead the design development process from concept through detailed design, ensuring alignment with project objectives and brand standards.
- Manage the preparation, coordination, and review of detailed drawings, technical documentation, and material specifications.
- Ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with local regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and external consultants to integrate interior design requirements seamlessly into overall project documentation.
- Review and approve shop drawings, mock-ups, and material samples to verify design intent and quality.
Project & Construction Oversight
- Oversee on-site execution of interior works to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate with contractors to resolve design and technical issues promptly.
- Manage design-related RFIs (Requests for Information), change requests, and coordination meetings during construction.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure that any design modifications during construction maintain the original design vision and technical integrity.
Strategic & Team Leadership
- Develop and implement design strategies that support the company's vision and elevate the brand's interior design standards.
- Champion best practices in design documentation, BIM coordination, and quality control across all projects.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Present design concepts, technical solutions, and progress updates effectively to stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in interior design, with a focus on technical design management and on-site coordination.
- Proven track record in managing high-end residential, hospitality, or mixed-use projects from concept through completion.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, detailing, and finishing standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with BIM workflows preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
