Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced Interior Design Review Engineer to join our design consultancy team. The role will be responsible for reviewing interior design deliverables, ensuring design quality, technical compliance, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to project requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong interior design consultancy experience with hands-on BIM expertise, particularly in Revit and multidisciplinary BIM coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Review interior design drawings, models, specifications, material selections, and technical submissions at various design stages.
- Conduct detailed technical reviews of concept, schematic, detailed design, IFC, and tender documentation.
- Review interior layouts, reflected ceiling plans, flooring, wall finishes, joinery, doors, furniture, fixtures, and other interior elements.
- Ensure designs comply with project brief, applicable codes, standards, authority requirements, and design guidelines.
- Review and coordinate BIM models in Revit to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with design intent.
- Identify design clashes, coordination issues, constructability concerns, and discrepancies between drawings and BIM models.
- Coordinate with Architecture, Structural, MEP, Façade, Landscape, and other disciplines to resolve design conflicts.
- Review BIM models and drawings for model integrity, naming conventions, levels, grids, families, parameters, and information requirements.
- Participate in design coordination and BIM coordination meetings and provide technical review comments.
- Prepare and maintain design review comments, technical observations, and issue logs.
- Review consultants submissions and provide clear, technically sound feedback for revisions.
- Monitor incorporation and closure of review comments through subsequent submissions.
- Ensure consistency between drawings, schedules, specifications, BIM models, and other project documentation.
- Support BIM coordination, clash detection, model audits, and design quality assurance processes.
- Assist in developing and maintaining BIM standards, workflows, templates, and quality-control procedures.
- Coordinate with project managers and design teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality design packages.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in interior design, design review, or design consultancy.
- Strong experience working with design consultants on large-scale projects.
- Proven experience in BIM-based interior design and coordination.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and relevant BIM tools.
- Strong understanding of BIM workflows, model coordination, clash detection, and design documentation.
- Good knowledge of interior design principles, materials, detailing, specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Experience in reviewing multidisciplinary design packages and coordinating with consultants.
- Strong understanding of design development from concept through detailed design and IFC stages.
- Excellent analytical, coordination, communication, and technical review skills.
