Interior & Furniture Designer

The designer will work within the scope of utilizing Decorama's product range (Furniture, Kitchens, Parquet Floors, and more) within the client's space and requirements. The design involves utilizing standard Decorama models, customization to the existing models, as well as work on completely bespoke designs. As part of the design team, he/she will participate in the development of new Decorama design collections.

The ideal candidate should have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on conversations with a client. The candidate should be confident communicating regularly with the client to assess their needs and be able to adjust a given approach based on feedback. The candidate should maintain an up-to-date familiarity with the interior design field and trends in order to provide the best ideas for clients.

Responsibilities

• Create attractive designs and layouts for various projects
• Meet with client in order to understand the client's objectives and desires
• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors and other team members in order to address client's needs
• Perform site surveys
• Prepare presentations (3D, 2D, mock-ups and renderings) for clients
• Keep an organized record of customer designs and files
• Maintain industry knowledge in order to stay relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related field Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, Photoshop and other design programs
• Proven working experience in decorating interior spaces and furniture design
• Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
• Excellent portfolio of previous works
• Creative talent, imagination and eye for design
• Organized and detail oriented
• Well spoken and presentable with strong communication skills
• English speaking proficiency preferred
