About The Role

This internship sits within the Data Audit, AI & Digital Assurance Solutions (DADAS) team in Group Internal Audit. The intern will work hands-on alongside the team to support data analytics delivery, help build and maintain audit analytics solutions, and contribute to the development of continuous assurance dashboards. It's a practical, execution-focused role — ideal for someone who wants real exposure to how data analytics is applied in an enterprise audit environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of reusable audit analytics scripts, data tests, and visualizations used across assurance engagements
  • Assist in building and refining Continuous Controls Assurance (CCA) dashboards in PowerBI, including data preparation, transformation logic, and visual design
  • Write and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts to extract, clean, and analyze data from enterprise systems
  • Help validate data quality across key dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness) as part of data audit fieldwork
  • Contribute to documenting data lineage, transformation logic, and analytic workpapers to ensure repeatability and auditability
  • Support data pipeline tasks including source identification, ingestion, and ETL/ELT validation under supervision
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to automate manual audit processes and streamline reporting workflows
  • Prepare clear, well-structured data visualizations and summaries that translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL (required) and Python or R (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, particularly PowerBI or similar (Tableau, Looker)
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse is a plus
  • Basic understanding of data governance concepts, data quality principles, or audit fundamentals is an advantage
  • Experience with ETL/ELT concepts or data pipeline tools is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work with large datasets
  • Good communication skills - able to explain technical work clearly to a non-technical audience
  • Self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
