WSP Middle East are currently looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineering intern to be based in our Sharjah office. Over a three‑month period, the intern will assist senior engineers in developing detailed designs for chilled water distribution, gas supply systems, pump stations, and related mechanical infrastructure. This role offers hands‑on experience with industry‑standard software and exposure to large‑scale project workflows.

This role offers hands‑on experience with industry‑standard software and exposure to large‑scale project workflows.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of hydraulic and thermal calculations for chilled water networks.
- Develop schematic and layout drawings for gas distribution systems using CAD tools.
- Support the design of pump stations, including selection of pumps and motor specifications.
- Prepare material take‑offs and cost estimates for mechanical network components.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs into overall project plans.
- Perform data collection and site surveys to validate design assumptions.
- Update and maintain project documentation and design databases.
- Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback.
- Conduct basic performance simulations and generate reports.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and WSP quality procedures.
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, related undergraduate program, or recently graduated.
- Strong academic record with coursework in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software; familiarity with hydraulic analysis tools is a plus.
- Basic understanding of chilled water, gas, and pump station design principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
- Eligibility to work in the United Arab Emirates for the internship duration.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude toward professional development.
