We're looking for a Social Media Intern who's plugged into what's happening online, writes well, and is comfortable in front of a camera as well as behind it. Someone who can take an idea, think it through for a fintech brand, and bring it to life.
Role Overview
- Position: Social Media Intern
- Location: Whitefield, Bengaluru
Key Responsibilities
- On-camera content: Be a regular face across Niyo's Reels and Shorts, anchoring trends and explainers.
- Trend-spotting: Track what's moving across platforms, not just Instagram and LinkedIn, and think through what's worth adapting for Niyo, and what isn't.
- Online conversations: Keep an eye on what's being said about Niyo and the category on Reddit, Quora, X, and similar spaces, and join in where it adds value.
- Captions and copy support: Write captions and short-form copy that sounds like a person, with enough thought behind it to hold up for a fintech brand.
- Content creation and editing: Shoot and edit short-form videos using Canva, Edits, CapCut, or similar tools, from concept to final cut.
- Static design support: Build social posts, story templates, and carousel visuals, working within Niyo's brand guidelines.
- Cross-team collaboration: Work with the social media manager to turn briefs into finished posts. Reach out to other teams directly for content opportunities.
- Calendar support: Help plan and publish the monthly content calendar.
Requirements & Technical Skills
- Comfortable on camera and willing to be one of the people Niyo's audience sees regularly.
- Good awareness of what's trending across social media and online generally, and the judgment to know what fits Niyo and what doesn't.
- Writes well: clear, witty when it counts, and quick with a caption or reply.
- Working knowledge of Canva for quick, clean design turnarounds. Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus.
- Basic video editing skills (Edits, CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar). Knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro is a plus.
- Able to take a brief and think through a few different ways to approach it.
- Proactive: comfortable approaching people for content and following up without being chased.
- A personal handle, reels, or a small portfolio that shows your writing, instincts, and on-camera comfort.
Eligibility Criteria
- Taste: A good sense of what works on social right now, across formats, tone, and platforms.
- Process: Able to walk us through how you'd take something from an idea to a finished post or reel, including the on-camera part.
