Internal Audit Manager

Position Overview:

EDECS is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager to lead internal audit projects and special assignments, ensuring effective execution of the approved audit plan, internal audit methodology, and ethics and compliance frameworks. The role will oversee audit fieldwork, review findings and reports, monitor corrective actions, and communicate audit results to management.

Responsibilities:

Audit Planning & Engagement Management

• Develop and manage the annual and periodic internal audit plan in accordance with approved internal audit methodology and organizational priorities.
• Define audit scope, objectives, procedures, timelines, and resource requirements for assigned engagements.
• Manage audit engagements and special assignments from planning through completion, ensuring timely delivery.

Audit Execution

• Lead and oversee audit fieldwork, including testing of controls, processes, transactions, systems, and compliance requirements.
• Review audit programs and ensure audit procedures adequately address the approved scope and objectives.
• Ensure audit engagements are conducted in accordance with approved policies, procedures, standards, and methodology.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Lead, supervise, and develop internal audit team members in the execution of audit assignments.
• Allocate assignments and review the quality, completeness, and adequacy of audit work performed.
• Provide coaching, technical guidance, and feedback to enhance team performance and audit quality.

Process Walkthroughs & Control Evaluation

• Lead interviews, walkthroughs, and process reviews with business units, functions, projects, and process owners.
• Ensure processes, systems, and controls are appropriately documented using flowcharts, narratives, system notes, and other audit documentation.
• Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness and identify control gaps and deficiencies.

Audit Findings & Reporting

• Review and finalize audit findings, including the condition, criteria, cause, impact, and agreed corrective actions.
• Lead discussions with management and process owners regarding audit findings and recommended improvements.
• Prepare, review, and issue clear and concise audit reports for relevant stakeholders and senior management.

Issue Follow-Up & Corrective Actions

• Monitor outstanding audit findings and agreed management action plans.
• Review supporting evidence to confirm implementation of agreed corrective actions.
• Escalate overdue or unresolved issues and maintain accurate reporting on outstanding audit recommendations.

Stakeholder & Management Engagement

• Maintain effective working relationships with senior management, business heads, process owners, and key stakeholders.
• Communicate audit objectives, progress, findings, and results effectively to management.
• Participate in management and governance meetings to present audit results and discuss significant control matters.

Special Assignments

• Lead special audits, reviews, investigations, and other assignments requested by senior management or the Audit Committee.
• Conduct reviews of significant processes, projects, systems, and organizational initiatives within the internal audit mandate.
• Provide internal audit input on new processes and systems where appropriate and within the approved scope.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure internal audit activities comply with applicable professional standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the continuous improvement of internal audit policies, procedures, methodology, and audit tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve audit effectiveness, efficiency, consistency, and overall quality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in managerial roles.
• CIA and CFE are required.
• Strong analytical, communication, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
