Finance, Treasury, ALM & Credit Risk
Department: Internal Audit |
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE |
Reports To: Head of Internal Audit
About Wio
Wio Bank is the UAE's first platform bank — a fully digital bank built on a cloud-native infrastructure, licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE. We exist to make financial services simple, transparent, and accessible — for individuals, freelancers, and businesses alike. At Wio, we move fast, think boldly, and build things that matter. If you want to be part of the team redefining banking in the region, you're in the right place.
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded
Internal Audit Manager – Finance, Treasury, ALM & Credit Risk to lead audit coverage across some of the bank's most critical risk areas. You will deliver high-quality, risk-based audits and provide independent assurance over financial controls, regulatory compliance, and structural risk management frameworks — including ICAAP, ILAAP, and related regulatory reporting processes.
This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of audit, finance, and risk — and one where your expertise will directly shape how Wio manages and monitors its financial resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of risk-based audits covering Finance, Treasury, ALM, Liquidity Risk, IRRBB, Capital Risk, Credit Risk, and related regulatory processes.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of financial controls — including accounting, reconciliation, valuation, and regulatory reporting controls.
- Manage and coach audit team members, ensuring high-quality workpapers, timely delivery, and consistent audit standards across engagements.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and continuous monitoring to identify emerging risks and inform the annual audit plan.
- Track, validate, and report on the timely closure of audit and regulatory issues, escalating where necessary.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing independent challenge and advisory support on control frameworks, governance, and risk management matters.
- Engage constructively with senior stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Regulatory functions to drive meaningful control improvements.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or MBA in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification preferred: CIA, CPA, ACCA, FRM, or CFA.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in banking or financial services — with hands-on exposure (either working in or auditing) across at least two of: Finance, Treasury, ALM, Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, IRRBB, or Capital Risk.
- Broader coverage across all the above areas is highly desirable and will strengthen your application.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end audit engagements, from planning through to issue tracking and closure.
Technical Knowledge
- Solid understanding of banking regulatory frameworks including Basel III, liquidity and capital requirements.
- Strong grounding in financial reporting standards, particularly IFRS.
- Good working knowledge of ICAAP, ILAAP, and regulatory reporting expectations.
- Familiarity with audit methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and control testing frameworks.
Skills & Behaviours
- Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — with the confidence to challenge senior management constructively.
- Strong leadership and people management skills; able to develop and inspire audit teams.
- Analytical mindset with sharp attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns and control gaps.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, digital-first environment where priorities can shift quickly.
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU
At Wio, we believe great people deserve great experiences — not just competitive compensation, but a place where their work genuinely matters.
- Be part of building the UAE's first platform bank — from the inside.
- Work with a high-calibre, diverse team of professionals across finance, technology, risk, and product.
- Competitive salary, benefits, and the opportunity to grow within a rapidly scaling organisation.
- A culture that values intellectual curiosity, direct feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Exposure to cutting-edge banking infrastructure and a front-row seat to digital banking innovation in the region.
