Job Summary
The Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. This role involves conducting audits, identifying operational and financial risks, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and recommending process improvements to enhance organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
- Review financial, operational, and compliance activities for accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, and areas of potential risk.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and action plans.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and perform follow-up audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Analyze financial records, business processes, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with department managers to improve internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Maintain audit documentation and working papers in accordance with professional standards.
- Assist in fraud investigations and special audit assignments when required.
- Stay updated on changes in auditing standards, laws, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CISA are preferred.
- Proven experience in internal auditing, with strong knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment, compliance, and audit procedures.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
