Job Purpose: To integrate inventory control with strategic merchandise planning by optimizing stock distribution, monitoring sales trends, managing inventory movements, and supporting forecasting. The role ensures data-driven decision-making to improve sell-through, minimize stock imbalances, and support the achievement of sales and margin objectives.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels across stores to ensure balanced availability, healthy stock flow, and minimal ageing.
- Analyze sell-through, stock movement, and assortment performance to support data-driven distribution and replenishment decisions.
- Lead and support stock takes, reconcile physical vs. system inventory, and drive accuracy improvements.
- Identify slow movers, overstock, and size gaps, initiating redistribution, consolidation, and liquidation actions.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and inventory efficiency through trend analysis and performance reporting.
- Collaborate closely with Retail Operations, Warehouse, and Marketing to align inventory actions with sales and business priorities.
- Prepare regular analytical reports and recommend process improvements to enhance speed, accuracy, and decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in inventory control, merchandise planning, or retail analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau); ERP and demand planning systems experience is a plus.
