Job Description
Role Description The Inventory Manager (part-time, remote) is responsible for monitoring, organizing, and optimizing inventory levels across the faculty's academic and research units. Day-to-day tasks include tracking stock movements, updating inventory records in digital systems, and reconciling physical counts with system data. The role involves coordinating with faculty, administrative staff, and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of materials, equipment, and consumables. The Inventory Manager will analyze usage patterns, identify variances, and recommend adjustments to ordering and stocking practices to reduce waste and prevent shortages. Additional responsibilities include preparing simple inventory reports, supporting audits, and proposing improvements to inventory procedures and controls.

- Candidates should possess strong Inventory Control and Inventory Management skills to maintain accurate stock levels and records.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret inventory data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and respond to inventory-related inquiries.
- Relevant experience with inventory or supply chain systems, preferably in an academic or laboratory setting.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic inventory software; familiarity with data entry and reporting tools.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to accurate documentation and compliance with institutional procedures.
