Job Title: Investment Associate

Focused on investing in leading growth stage tech companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, Ramp, Databricks, Rippling, Goanna Capital is hiring a high energy, entrepreneurial investment associate to help grow our regional presence from our Abu Dhabi office (opening 2026).

Role Overview
This isn't a typical associate-level role. You will play a major role across our investing, research and fundraising as we expand across the Middle East.
You might be in investment banking, asset management, consulting, etc. If you are passionate about private technology, have an analytical mindset and can execute outreach strategies at scale, this job is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Management:
- Create and refine investment roadmaps to guide firm strategy across the Middle East private technology landscape, maintaining deep expertise on industry developments and emerging opportunities
- Identify and build relationships with promising founders, teams, and startups. Embed yourself in regional ecosystems to surface the most compelling investment opportunities
- Support comprehensive financial analysis and due diligence on customers, products, technology, teams, and markets, synthesizing insights into actionable investment recommendations
- Assist our portfolio companies with strategic introductions, hiring support, resources, and market intelligence. Actively contribute to long-term value creation initiatives
Business Development & Investor Relations:
- Support fundraising efforts and investor communications across the Middle East
- Help develop relationships with family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional investors
- Represent Goanna Capital at regional conferences, industry events, and investor meetings
About You
- 1-3+ years of relevant professional experience in an operating role at a startup, as a founder, scientist, technologist; or experience at a MBB (or top management / strategy) consulting firm, leading investment bank, or PE / VC fund
- Natural ability to connect with founders and C-level executives, with strong communication and relationship-building capabilities
- Self-driven, proactive, with commercial instincts and passion for business and technology
- Independent thinker and fast learner driven by pursuing unconventional ideas
- Energized by the opportunity to grow the Goanna franchise in the Middle East
