The Role
asset manager in Doha is hiring an Investment Associate to support the analysis, execution, and ongoing monitoring of investment portfolios across multiple asset classes and strategies. Working closely with the Manager – Investments, the successful candidate will contribute across the full investment lifecycle, from opportunity assessment through to performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Manager – Investments on investment opportunity assessments, execution of investments, and portfolio monitoring.
- Conduct market research, financial modelling, valuations, due diligence, investment structuring, legal framework review, and negotiations.
- Provide analytical and research support across listed equity, fixed income, real estate, private equity, alternative investments, funds, and direct investment opportunities spanning multiple strategies and sectors.
- Construct, review, and maintain financial models for existing and prospective investments.
- Monitor the performance of existing portfolio companies and asset classes, and evaluate future investment opportunities.
- Perform valuation, investment return, and sensitivity analysis.
- Carry out performance analysis and market analysis; monitor and upload system inputs, evaluate system outputs, and produce custom reports.
- Maintain and develop Excel-based systems infrastructure and spreadsheets.
- Support the preparation of investment committee presentations.
- Contribute to special projects on an ad-hoc basis and carry out other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- Significant progress toward a CFA, MBA, or another credential relevant to investment management is strongly preferred.
- 6–8 years of total work experience, with a minimum of 4 years of recent experience in asset or investment management, corporate finance, equity research, or investment banking.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including transaction modelling; strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with business and industry research platforms such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, and Refinitiv Eikon.
- Extensive hands-on experience in investment management with a multi-strategy and multi-asset class mandate.
- Business-fluent English is mandatory; Arabic is preferred.
- Knowledge of investor relations, sustainability, and ESG reporting is preferred.
