IoT Cloud & Backend Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an IoT Cloud & Backend Engineer to build and maintain the cloud platform connecting our mobile applications with smart devices.

You will work across backend services, AWS infrastructure, IoT communication, device management, real-time synchronization, and secure APIs.

Key Responsibilities

Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
Build and maintain AWS-based services using Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Cognito, S3, EC2, EventBridge, and CloudWatch.
Implement MQTT-based IoT communication using EMQX.
Develop device provisioning, claiming, authentication, ownership, and sharing.
Implement real-time device state synchronization and command handling.
Build scheduling, automation, notification, and device-management services.
Implement secure communication using TLS/mTLS.
Monitor, debug, optimize, and scale cloud services.
Collaborate closely with Flutter and Embedded/IoT engineers.

Requirements

Strong software engineering and computer science fundamentals.
Strong Python skills and backend development experience.
Experience with REST APIs and databases.
Understanding of AWS cloud services.
Understanding of MQTT, IoT communication, and distributed systems.
Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and application security.
Git and Linux experience.
Basic Docker knowledge.
Ability to understand existing systems and solve problems independently.
Experience with EMQX, WebSockets, serverless architecture, or smart-home integrations is a plus.
