Your Role
We are looking for an experienced IIoT Platform & Application Tester to lead the validation of IIoT platforms, web and mobile applications, and cloud services within our Digital Squads project. You will bring a strong understanding of device data flows, cloud architecture, and system integrations, ensuring that every platform component — from device ingestion to application layer — is thoroughly tested, validated, and ready for production.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Testing and validating IIoT platform features including device management, data ingestion, alarms, rules engines, dashboards, and multi-tenancy configurations, ensuring full functional coverage across all platform capabilities using real IoT data and workflows
- Performing end-to-end testing across device, edge, cloud, and application layers, validating cloud components including microservices, APIs, event pipelines, and storage services, and testing integrations with OSS/BSS, AI/ML services, and third-party systems
- Validating authentication, RBAC, tenant isolation, and secure access flows, verifying data pipelines from ingestion through to visualisation and alerting, and ensuring all security and access control mechanisms function as designed across the full platform stack
- Executing regression, integration, and basic performance testing across platform and application releases, analysing logs, events, and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Cloud Logging for debugging, and contributing to continuous quality improvement across the testing practice
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional development, architecture, and operations teams to define test strategies, report defects clearly and accurately, and ensure that quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle from design through to production release
Your Profile
We are looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented platform tester who brings deep IIoT and cloud knowledge, proven testing expertise, and a collaborative approach to quality engineering in complex, multi-technology environments.
- 10+ years of experience as an IoT platform or software test engineer, with strong and demonstrable knowledge of IIoT concepts including devices, telemetry, protocols, and data lifecycle management, and hands-on experience with IoT platforms such as Cumulocity, Litmus, or ThingWorx
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS), including experience testing microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures, with proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman and familiarity with automation frameworks such as Selenium or equivalent
- Strong understanding of authentication and security frameworks including OAuth2, SAML, and RBAC, combined with experience validating tenant isolation, secure access flows, and data pipeline integrity from ingestion to visualisation and alerting
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code practices, and monitoring/logging tools such as Grafana and Cloud Logging, with familiarity of edge computing, secure device provisioning, and multi-cloud or hybrid IoT deployment architectures being a strong advantage
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams, articulate complex testing findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and drive quality outcomes in fast-paced agile delivery environments
