Position Objective:
Design and develop detailed IP/MPLS core network, Internet Exchange Point (IXP), and International Gateway (IGW) solutions for the Project. Responsible for creating scalable, resilient, and high-performance network designs covering backbone routing, peering architectures, traffic engineering, and international connectivity. Ensure all design deliverables comply with engineering standards, resiliency requirements, and multi-vendor interoperability specifications.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Design MPLS backbone solutions including BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, Segment Routing, MPLS-TE, and L2/L3 VPN services.
- Develop detailed HLD and LLD for IP/MPLS core network domains.
- Define QoS architecture, traffic classification, marking, and queuing design models.
- Design EVPN, multicast, and service chaining architectures on the MPLS backbone.
- Define high availability, fast convergence, and multi-path redundancy design mechanisms.
- Validate multi-vendor interoperability and integration across MPLS platforms.
- Design Internet Exchange Point infrastructure, peering fabric, and interconnection architectures.
- Develop BGP peering policies, route server design, route filtering, and traffic engineering strategies.
- Define IXP switching fabric architecture, VLAN segmentation, and member port design.
- Coordinate technical peering relationships with international carriers and content delivery providers.
- Design IXP management and monitoring architecture for traffic visibility and capacity management.
- Design International Gateway architecture and international traffic interconnection models.
- Develop protection and redundancy mechanisms for international connectivity services.
- Define interconnection models and interface architectures with international carriers and Tier-1 providers.
- Design DDoS protection, traffic filtering, and security integration at the IGW layer.
- Develop traffic engineering and routing optimization strategies for international traffic flows.
- Perform detailed routing topology studies, traffic flow analysis, and backbone capacity assessments.
- Define network resiliency, convergence optimization, and redundancy architectures.
- Develop backbone capacity planning and traffic engineering strategies aligned with growth projections.
- Analyze network latency, ECMP, and load balancing optimization across routing domains.
- Develop comprehensive HLD, LLD, topology diagrams, and technical design documentation.
- Participate in technical design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering and telecom standards.
- Validate vendor design submissions, compliance matrices, and technical recommendations.
- Support implementation teams during integration and commissioning phases.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master of Engineering in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IP/MPLS core network design and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, Segment Routing, EVPN, and QoS architectures.
- Hands-on experience with IXP design and international connectivity architectures.
- Multi-vendor experience with leading IP/MPLS equipment providers (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Huawei).
- Professional certifications (CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Good communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
