Job Description

Position Objective:

Design and develop detailed IP/MPLS core network, Internet Exchange Point (IXP), and International Gateway (IGW) solutions for the Project. Responsible for creating scalable, resilient, and high-performance network designs covering backbone routing, peering architectures, traffic engineering, and international connectivity. Ensure all design deliverables comply with engineering standards, resiliency requirements, and multi-vendor interoperability specifications.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Design MPLS backbone solutions including BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, Segment Routing, MPLS-TE, and L2/L3 VPN services.
  • Develop detailed HLD and LLD for IP/MPLS core network domains.
  • Define QoS architecture, traffic classification, marking, and queuing design models.
  • Design EVPN, multicast, and service chaining architectures on the MPLS backbone.
  • Define high availability, fast convergence, and multi-path redundancy design mechanisms.
  • Validate multi-vendor interoperability and integration across MPLS platforms.
  • Design Internet Exchange Point infrastructure, peering fabric, and interconnection architectures.
  • Develop BGP peering policies, route server design, route filtering, and traffic engineering strategies.
  • Define IXP switching fabric architecture, VLAN segmentation, and member port design.
  • Coordinate technical peering relationships with international carriers and content delivery providers.
  • Design IXP management and monitoring architecture for traffic visibility and capacity management.
  • Design International Gateway architecture and international traffic interconnection models.
  • Develop protection and redundancy mechanisms for international connectivity services.
  • Define interconnection models and interface architectures with international carriers and Tier-1 providers.
  • Design DDoS protection, traffic filtering, and security integration at the IGW layer.
  • Develop traffic engineering and routing optimization strategies for international traffic flows.
  • Perform detailed routing topology studies, traffic flow analysis, and backbone capacity assessments.
  • Define network resiliency, convergence optimization, and redundancy architectures.
  • Develop backbone capacity planning and traffic engineering strategies aligned with growth projections.
  • Analyze network latency, ECMP, and load balancing optimization across routing domains.
  • Develop comprehensive HLD, LLD, topology diagrams, and technical design documentation.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering and telecom standards.
  • Validate vendor design submissions, compliance matrices, and technical recommendations.
  • Support implementation teams during integration and commissioning phases.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master of Engineering in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in IP/MPLS core network design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, Segment Routing, EVPN, and QoS architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with IXP design and international connectivity architectures.
  • Multi-vendor experience with leading IP/MPLS equipment providers (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Huawei).
  • Professional certifications (CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
  • Good communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
