JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect with deep expertise in telecom Billing & Charging systems and broader enterprise platforms. In this role, the candidate will define and lead the technology architecture vision for billing, charging, and revenue management ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting major transformational initiatives within a telecom-centric environment.
The ideal candidate has a proven record of accomplishment of architecting large-scale telecom solutions, leading cross-functional teams, and leveraging emerging technologies including AI, cloud, and real-time charging innovations to drive modernization and efficiency. This role requires strategic leadership, deep domain expertise, and continuous awareness of emerging trends such as AI-driven automation, cloud-native BSS architectures, Open API adoption, and next-generation charging models. These capabilities are essential to future-proof the billing and charging landscape and ensure sustainable, long-term scalability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecture Vision & Leadership
Define and lead the enterprise architecture vision for Billing & Charging, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and program objectives. Serve as the technical authority for the billing, charging, and revenue management domains, establishing the technology roadmap and architectural blueprint that guide long-term direction, modernization, and execution.
Cross-Domain Design
Architect end-to-end blueprints covering the Billing & Charging domain and its integrations with other internal systems, ensuring seamless, reliable, and secure data and process flows. Design scalable, modular, and resilient architectures that can integrate legacy components with modern cloud-based services, and define the modernization plans required to evolve the ecosystem.
Innovation & Best Practices
Provide thought leadership and drive adoption of the latest technologies and best practices. Introduce innovation in areas such as AI and machine learning, robotic process automation, and analytics to enhance business processes and customer experience.
Governance & Standards
Build and enforce architecture governance frameworks, reference architectures, and design principles. Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and quality standards. Leverage frameworks such as TOGAF and TM Forum standards including eTOM, SID, and Open APIs to guide architectural consistency across the Billing & Charging domain.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead and collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, development, infrastructure, and operations teams to translate high-level billing and charging requirements into robust architectural designs. Facilitate architecture reviews and design workshops with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring alignment, resolving dependencies, and driving consensus on complex telecom BSS solutions.
Architecture Roadmap & Transition Planning
Develop comprehensive architecture roadmaps for Billing & Charging by analyzing current (as-is) and target (to-be) states, identifying capability gaps, and defining transition plans. Translate business and technology objectives into phased transformation initiatives. Provide oversight to ensure adherence to architectural direction, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed to address risks or evolving requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage senior leadership and key stakeholders to communicate the architecture vision and roadmap. Present complex technical solutions in clear, business-friendly language and act as a trusted advisor on technology strategy, influencing decisions and aligning IT capabilities with business goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Architecture certifications such as TOGAF are strongly valued.
Years of Experience
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with at least 3 - 4 years of experience in a similar role.
