Job Summary
The IT & Assets Manager is responsible for managing the organization's IT asset lifecycle, vendor relationships, and technology contracts to ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and cost optimization. The role oversees asset inventory, licensing, vendor performance, SLA adherence, and ITSM reporting while collaborating closely with finance and internal stakeholders to ensure proper governance and financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
IT Asset Management
- Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets including procurement, inventory management, allocation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of all IT hardware and software assets through asset management systems.
- Implement and enforce asset management policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct periodic asset audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance.
Vendor Management
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations and service delivery expectations.
- Coordinate vendor activities including service delivery, procurement, and technical support.
- Support vendor evaluation, selection, and contract negotiation processes.
Contracts & License Management
- Manage IT contracts, subscriptions, maintenance agreements, and software licenses.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Track contract renewals and proactively manage renegotiations or renewals to optimize costs.
SLA Monitoring & Escalation
- Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators related to IT services.
- Identify service delivery gaps and coordinate escalation procedures when necessary.
- Work with internal teams and vendors to ensure service continuity and improvement.
IT Service Management (ITSM) Reporting
- Generate regular reports on IT service performance, asset utilization, and operational metrics.
- Analyze ITSM data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Support IT governance and compliance reporting requirements.
Finance & Procurement Coordination
- Collaborate with the finance department to validate vendor invoices and ensure billing accuracy.
- Monitor IT-related expenses and support budget planning activities.
- Ensure alignment between contractual obligations, delivered services, and invoiced costs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of proven experience in IT asset management and vendor management.
- Experience managing IT contracts, licensing agreements, and vendor SLAs.
- Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms and asset management systems.
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management frameworks (ITIL preferred).
- Experience working with procurement and finance teams on vendor and invoice management.
Professional Certifications
Relevant professional certifications in IT service management, IT asset management, vendor governance, or software licensing management will be considered a strong advantage.
