We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Assistant Engineer to support the maintenance and servicing of security systems deployed at customer sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and resolving technical issues in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including system patching, software updates, and routine inspections.
- Carry out corrective maintenance for security system components, including access control systems, CCTV cameras, controllers, and related frontend devices.
- Ensure all deployed systems remain fully operational and perform optimally at all times.
- Troubleshoot and rectify system faults, implement software enhancements, perform bug fixes, and conduct testing and commissioning activities to meet contractual requirements.
- Work closely with the operations team to maximise system uptime and achieve service KPIs.
- Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance reports, corrective maintenance reports, and service checklists for documentation and billing purposes.
- Monitor spare parts inventory to support timely maintenance activities and minimise system downtime.
- Track End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support (EOS) status of installed equipment and recommend replacement plans where necessary.
- Coordinate with customers and subcontractors on maintenance schedules, site activities, and work quality.
- Support contract administration activities, including purchase orders, billing milestones, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) documentation, operation manuals, maintenance records, and asset management.
- Assist with Addition & Alteration (A&A) works and Variation Order (VO) projects during maintenance cycles.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline. Candidates from other engineering backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in maintenance services, preferably within the physical security systems industry.
- Experience in project implementation or execution will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with security systems, servers, networking equipment, or related technologies is preferred.
- Willing to participate in after-office-hours standby duty on a rotational basis to support fault recovery.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Able to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
