IT Director - 3-Month Project (Odoo Implementation & Digital Transformation) - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Role Overview

Our confidential client is seeking an IT Director in Riyadh for a 3-month project assignment to lead a critical digital transformation initiative with a strong focus on Odoo implementation, systems integration, and process digitization. The role requires a highly capable IT leader who can assess the current technology environment, drive the implementation or optimization of Odoo ERP, ensure smooth integration across business systems, and deliver practical transformation outcomes within a short project timeline.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead the IT and digital transformation agenda during the project period, with direct responsibility for Odoo implementation leadership, integration readiness, technology alignment, and execution of high-impact transformation priorities.

- Odoo Implementation Leadership: Lead the end-to-end implementation, enhancement, or stabilization of Odoo ERP across relevant business functions; align system design with operational and business requirements; ensure the project remains on track in terms of scope, priorities, and deliverables.

- Business Process Digitalization: Assess current manual and fragmented processes across departments and translate them into efficient digital workflows within Odoo or connected systems; drive practical process improvement through automation and better system usage.

- Systems Integration: Lead integration planning and execution between Odoo and other internal or external platforms, such as HR systems, finance tools, CRM, procurement systems, inventory, operations, third-party applications, or reporting tools; ensure data flow, system accuracy, and operational continuity.

- Digital Transformation Roadmap: Develop and execute a focused 3-month transformation plan covering quick wins, system priorities, integration milestones, and operational improvements; create a clear roadmap for post-project continuation where needed.

- Technology Assessment & Gap Analysis: Review the current IT and applications environment to identify system gaps, duplication, process inefficiencies, data issues, control weaknesses, and opportunities for digital improvement.

- Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with business leaders, department heads, process owners, and vendors to capture requirements, align priorities, manage expectations, and ensure practical adoption of digital solutions.

- Vendor & Implementation Partner Management: Manage Odoo partners, developers, system integrators, and other technology vendors; monitor execution quality, issue resolution, delivery timelines, and business alignment.

- Data Migration & System Readiness: Oversee data readiness, migration planning, cleansing requirements, validation, and transition support to ensure the Odoo environment is reliable and fit for business use.

- Governance, Testing & Go-Live Readiness: Establish implementation discipline across system configuration, testing, UAT coordination, issue tracking, change control, user readiness, and go-live planning.

- Change Management & User Adoption: Support business adoption by driving communication, user alignment, training coordination, and practical handover to internal teams; help ensure the transformation effort translates into sustainable use.

- Executive Reporting & Handover: Provide management with structured updates on implementation progress, transformation risks, integration issues, priorities, and final recommendations; deliver a clear end-of-project handover and next-phase roadmap.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including senior responsibility for enterprise systems, digital transformation, and business technology enablement.

- Proven hands-on experience leading or managing Odoo implementation projects, including configuration oversight, business alignment, testing, and go-live support.

- Strong expertise in system integration, application connectivity, APIs, data flow design, and cross-platform process alignment.

- Demonstrated experience driving digital transformation initiatives, process automation, and technology-enabled operational improvement.

- Strong understanding of ERP environments, business process mapping, data migration, user adoption, and project governance.

- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a short-term, high-impact project assignment.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management capability, with the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.

 

Preferred / Nice-to-have

- Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC environments.

- Experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial, trading, distribution, or multi-entity business environments.

- Knowledge of finance, supply chain, HR, procurement, operations, and inventory workflows within Odoo.

- Experience with third-party integrations, middleware, APIs, reporting tools, and digital workflow automation.

- PMP, ITIL, ERP, Odoo, or digital transformation-related certifications.

- Arabic and English communication capability.

Success Metrics

- Odoo implementation priorities are clearly defined, structured, and progressed effectively within the project timeline.

- Key business processes are successfully digitized, improved, or stabilized through Odoo and related systems.

- Critical integrations are implemented, improved, or clearly designed for execution with minimal disruption.

- Business stakeholders receive practical, actionable technology solutions aligned to operational needs.

- Data readiness, system testing, and user adoption activities are managed effectively.

- The client gains better system visibility, stronger process control, and measurable digital transformation progress within the 3-month period.

- A clear handover and transformation roadmap are delivered for the next phase after project completion.
