To maintain competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for new IT Disaster Recovery Manager

Job purpose:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Geidea as a group. The role ensures that the company's IT infrastructure, applications, and critical business processes can recover efficiently in the event of a disaster or disruption, aligning with the regulatory requirements set by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). The IT DR Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry best practices and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

Disaster Recovery Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy aligned with the company's business continuity plan (BCP).
  • Ensure DR plans align with regulatory requirements, including SAMA's Business Continuity Framework.
  • Define Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for critical IT systems.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to assess risks and dependencies for fintech services.
  • Establish procedures for system backup, data replication, and failover mechanisms.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with SAMA's Business Continuity Framework and IT governance policies.
  • Regularly review and update DR plans to meet SAMA Cyber Security Framework and SAMA Operational Resilience Guidelines.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory audits and assessments.
  • Implement controls to comply with ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management System) and ISO 27001 (Information Security).

Testing & Maintenance

  • Schedule and conduct periodic disaster recovery drills and simulations.
  • Identify weaknesses in recovery plans and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain updated documentation for IT infrastructure, applications, and dependencies.
  • Train IT teams and business units on DR procedures and incident response protocols.

Risk Assessment & Incident Management

  • Perform risk assessments for IT infrastructure and cloud-based services.
  • Define incident response and escalation procedures for IT disruptions.
  • Establish collaboration with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks related to cyber threats.
  • Develop contingency strategies for fintech services, including digital banking and payment systems.

Vendor & Cloud Management

  • Manage relationships with third-party DR service providers and cloud vendors.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) include DR and BCP requirements.
  • Work with IT teams to establish cloud-based recovery solutions for fintech operations.

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide senior management with regular reports on DR readiness and risks.
  • Communicate with external regulators and stakeholders during disruptions.
  • Document lessons learned after DR tests and actual incidents for continuous improvement.

Infrastructure Optimization and Management:

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and uptime.
  • Work closely with DevOps and IT teams to establish standardized processes for system automation, deployment, and monitoring.

Must have technical/professional qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT risk management.
  • Bachelor's or master's Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, or financial services is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based DR solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with backup and replication technologies (Veeam, Zerto, etc.).
  • Knowledge of virtualization, storage, and high-availability solutions.
  • Familiarity with SAMA cybersecurity and business continuity regulations.
  • Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, and incident response.
  • Demonstrated managing large-scale systems within fintech or financial services organizations.
  • Strong understanding cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, including AI/ML, cloud platforms, and data analytics, with application to compliance and risk functions.
