KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor infrastructure Storage and Backup systems using standard monitoring tools to maintain the uptime/stability of Storage and Backup systems
- Provide technical support and higher-level support for service desk and desktop support teams to meet SLA signed with Business departments.
- Work closely with the infrastructure teams to deploy new services and troubleshoot bugs and issues.
- Participate in defining Infrastructure systems needs and capacity planning for storage and backup systems.
- Maintain availability and troubleshoot Bank production environment, under many situations this job requires handling multitasks at the same time considering the quality and quantity of deliverables.
- Supporting technology implementation and selection decisions, self-learning is required most of time due to training cost and limited budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- IT Bachelor Degree or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Admin: 0-2 years Backup & storage system administration experience
- Senior Admin: 2-5 years Backup & storage system administration experience
Job Specific Skills for Storage and Backup Admin:
- Detailed knowledge of Backup methods and media types.
- Deep Knowledge of recent version of NetBackup or similar enterprise backup system.
- Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup solution; monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective action
- Configure backup policy for new backup clients
- Performing standard and test restores of requested files, folders, databases, and virtual machines
- Understanding of SAN concepts (LUNS, hard and soft zoning, HBAs, WWNs)
- Monitor SAN storage (VMAX, PowerStore, RecoverPoint, VPLEX, SAN Switches)
- Performing SAN storage tasks like create and musk new volumes.
- Experience of working with equipment and services based in remote lights out Data Centres
