Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Presales Engineer (IT Infrastructure & Active Components) to support our business development and project delivery teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, sizing, and proposing IT infrastructure solutions including active components (switching, routing, wireless, security, servers, storage, and virtualization).
This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and technical execution providing solution design, technical presentations, and bid support for enterprise and government clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Presales & Solution Design
- Work with the team to understand client requirements and propose suitable IT infrastructure solutions.
- Design and prepare end-to-end solutions covering networking, servers, storage, backup, virtualization, and security.
- Prepare technical proposals, BOMs, SOWs, and solution diagrams aligned with RFPs/RFQs.
- Good to have - conduct technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) when required.
- Ensure solutions are technically sound, cost-effective, and compliant with client requirements.
2. Recommended Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Active Network Components such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, HPE Aruba, Ruijie, and equivalent brands.
- Familiarity with Data Center infrastructure including racks, UPS, structured cabling, and environmental monitoring.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and server/storage technologies (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, etc.).
- Basic understanding of cloud and hybrid solutions (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS preferred).
- Ability to interpret network topologies, infrastructure drawings, and rack layouts.
3. Documentation & Support
- Prepare technical documentation for proposals, tenders, and internal reviews.
- Collaborate with project and procurement teams for technical clarifications and vendor quotations.
- Support project handover from presales to implementation team with detailed design documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Presales / Solution Engineering / IT Infrastructure roles.
- Certifications preferred: CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE4+, VMware VCP, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
Technical Skills
- Network: Switching, Routing, Wireless, Security (Firewall, VPN, NAC).
- Infrastructure: Servers, Storage, Virtualization, Power & Cooling, Structured Cabling.
- Tools: Visio, AutoCAD (basic), Excel-based costing templates, OEM sizing/configuration tools.
