About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on IT Specialist to support the day-to-day technology needs of our freight forwarding operations. This role is primarily focused on IT infrastructure and support - managing our network, hardware, systems, and end-user support - while also contributing to light software development and maintenance of internal tools and freight-related systems (e.g., TMS, EDI integrations).
Beyond day-to-day IT operations, you will play a key role in driving the company's digital transformation agenda, identifying opportunities to modernize our systems and processes, and championing the adoption of AI-driven tools for logistics optimization - from route and capacity planning to demand forecasting and operational efficiency.
You'll be the go-to person ensuring our systems run smoothly so our operations, sales, and customer service teams can keep freight moving without interruption, while also helping shape how technology and AI move the business forward.

- Perform basic scripting, automation, or light development work to improve internal workflows
- Assist with integration between systems (e.g., TMS, accounting software, customer portals)
- Troubleshoot software issues and coordinate with vendors/developers for fixes
- Support testing and rollout of new systems or software updates
Digital Transformation & AI-Driven Logistics Optimization
- Lead and coordinate the company's digital transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to modernize legacy systems and streamline manual processes
- Research, evaluate, and pilot AI-driven tools and platforms for logistics optimization (e.g., route planning, shipment forecasting, capacity/yield optimization, anomaly detection)
- Partner with operations and management teams to identify pain points where automation or AI can improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Drive adoption of new digital tools across the organization, including training and change management support
- Track industry trends in logistics technology and AI, and recommend relevant innovations to leadership
- Manage or contribute to digital transformation projects from planning through implementation and rollout
