Responsibilities
- Manage and configure non-managed private servers (VPS) and virtual dedicated servers (VDS), including both backend and frontend setup of projects.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices, monitor system vulnerabilities, and ensure the security of server and network operations.
- Oversee the company's network management, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrade of both software and hardware components.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, switches, access points, security systems/cameras, access control devices, operating systems, and software applications.
- Configure routers, including load balancing and other router configuration tasks. Well-versed in DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, firewalls, networking, and security.
- Work with Cloud Content Delivery Networks (CDN) to enhance content delivery and performance.
- Manage DNS records and ensure accurate pointing for domain name resolution and service availability.
- Utilize Linux systems across various distributions proficiently, using both terminal and GUIs.
- Experience with MeshCentral for remote management, Proxmox for virtualization, and deploying projects on cloud over unmanaged servers.
- Knowledge of proxy servers and their configuration for enhancing network security and efficiency.
- Familiarity with Docker, VirtualBox, Local Virtual Machine Desktops, and other virtualization technologies.
- Utilize Version Control Systems (VCS) to maintain code integrity, facilitate collaboration, and streamline the development process.
- Implement Blue/Green Deployments to ensure zero downtime during updates.
- Optimize Linux system performance for enhanced efficiency and reliability.
- Enhance web server performance to improve response times and handle high traffic volumes effectively.
- Strengthen security measures for Linux systems and web servers to protect against evolving threats.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Linux systems and familiarity with multiple distributions.
- Proficient in managing and configuring routers, with a solid understanding of load balancing and network configuration. Well-versed in DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, firewalls, networking, and security.
- Skilled in installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components. Previous experience with Servers, Switches, Access Points, Security Systems/Cams, and Access Control Devices.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices to safeguard systems and data.
- Experience with MeshCentral, Proxmox, and cloud deployments on unmanaged servers.
- Understanding of proxy servers and their application in network management.
- Familiarity with VirtualBox, Local Virtual Machine Desktops, and other virtualization technologies.
