The Public Izakaya is seeking an experienced and hands-on Izakaya Bar Manager to manage our bar operations and deliver a warm, energetic Japanese dining experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the bar team, maintaining beverage quality, controlling costs and ensuring smooth daily operations. You should be confident working in a fast-paced and high volume environment and comfortable engaging with guests.
Key Responsibilities
. Oversee the daily operations of the bar and beverage service
. Lead, train and motivate bartenders and service staff
. Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of cocktails, highballs, sake, shochu, beer and other beverages
. Maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness and bar organisation
. Manage beverage inventory, ordering, stock rotation and monthly stocktakes
. Monitor beverage costs, wastage, portion control and profitability
. Develop and recommend new drinks, promotions and seasonal beverage offerings
. Ensure all equipment, glassware and bar supplies are properly maintained
. Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues professionally
. Coordinate closely with the restaurant manager, kitchen and management team
. Ensure compliance with licensing, workplace safety, hygiene and company procedures
. Support restaurant operations whenever required
Requirements
. Minimum 5 years of relevant bar or restaurant experience, preferably in a supervisory or management position
. Experience in an izakaya, Japanese restaurant or high-volume bar will be an advantage
. Knowledge of cocktails, Japanese whisky, sake, shochu, beer and highballs
. Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills
. Good understanding of inventory management, beverage costing and cost control
. Service-oriented, responsible and able to remain calm during busy periods
. Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
. Able to perform hands-on operational duties and lead by example
What We Offer
⁃ 6 days work week, 10 days AL upon confirmation.
⁃ Split shift Monday to Friday, Dinner shift only for Sat, Sun and PH.
