Java Solution Architect

Job Summary:-

The Backend Solution Architect will be responsible for the SAFE System level architecture, working with different stakeholders. They will design Sales, Service, and Operations capabilities delivered to support the Customer in our channels touchpoints. The Architect will need to be hands-on, delivering design documentation and leading tech leads to drive the end-to-end design. They will ensure designed solutions are aligned with the Vodafone Digital IT Strategy and Commercial Channels strategies. The role involves working within a Scaled Agile release train as the System Architect, supporting the Agile Release Train (programme) through to squad level. Additionally, the Architect will support the communication of the architected solutions to stakeholders in Local Market teams and assist them in adopting the platforms/capabilities.

Technical Skills:-

• Extensive experience in defining solution designs and application integrations (including designs to support functional and non-functional requirements).
• Good understanding of different architecture types/styles, including microservices architecture, event-based architecture, micro-frontend architecture pattern, …
• Good understanding of Microservices design patterns and best practices, with experience in implementations on cloud.
• Experience designing applications for the cloud, with good understanding of Cloud services/concepts (serverless & containerized and compute services, managed data services etc.).
• Understands principles of AWS well architected framework (or equivalent) with respect to security, resiliency & scalability, solution maintainability, cost management
• Knowledge and experience of REST API standards and API design. Experience designing and building TM Forum compliant APIs is a plus
• Good understanding of Security by Design principles
• Experience in Application performance tuning, e.g. use of tools/products for triage perf issues, best practices for design

Soft skills:-

• Very Good communication and Stakeholder management skills. Ability to collaborate with different types of teams e.g. business owners, delivery managers, technical teams.
• Ability to Interpret business requirements and translate them into solution designs
• Ability to take technical decisions, evaluate different solution options, suggest improvements to the user experience, resiliency, re-usability, scalability and cost management of different application components
• Knowledge of telco industry is a plus
• Experience in describing and documenting architecture and design, with good knowledge of diagramming tools and standards, e.g. UML diagrams, C4, ArchiMate.
• Architecture level Certifications is a plus, e.g. TOGAF, ODA (Open Digital Architecture), AWS Certified Solution Architect
