Job Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end day-to-day execution of joinery, glass, mirror, stone, and related product manufacturing activities, from engineering release through procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation, and final handover.

The role acts as a key coordination link between Engineering, Procurement, Suppliers, Outsourced Manufacturing Partners, Quality, Logistics, Site Installation Teams, and Project Management, ensuring that project activities are properly planned, followed up, and executed in accordance with approved requirements.

The Project Engineer works closely with the Project Manager to provide clear visibility of project progress, pending actions, risks, constraints, and required decisions, while proactively following up with all relevant parties to keep the project on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate joinery manufacturing activities from shop drawing review through production, installation support, and project handover.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements to ensure manufacturability, accuracy, and compliance with client expectations.
  • Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and planning teams to ensure materials, resources, and production schedules are aligned with project timelines.
  • Monitor factory production progress, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Ensure all joinery works comply with approved drawings, quality standards, health and safety requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process and coordinate resolution of technical and quality-related issues.
  • Prepare project progress reports, track manufacturing milestones, manage variations, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the factory operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in joinery manufacturing, interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, or a similar production environment.
  • Practical understanding of joinery products and manufacturing processes, particularly wardrobes, kitchens, vanity units, cabinets, and related interior products.
  • Experience working with factories.
  • Previous exposure to mass production or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, material specifications, and production requirements.
  • Good understanding of project schedules, deadlines, dependencies, and progress tracking.
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project-tracking tools.
