Role Description

The Jr Fire Alarm Engineer (UPDA Trainee grade) is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar.

This position involves assisting in the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire alarm and related fire protection systems in accordance with local codes and standards.

Day-to-day tasks include supporting senior engineers during site surveys, preparing basic technical documentation and reports, helping troubleshoot system issues, and coordinating with project teams to ensure timely completion of work.

The Jr Engineer will also participate in routine inspections, verify system functionality, maintain records of work performed, and contribute to continuous improvements in safety and quality.

The role requires adherence to health and safety guidelines and active participation in training and development as a UPDA Trainee.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Fire Protection Engineering and Safety Engineering for the design, evaluation, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Fire Safety and Life Safety principles to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with Fire Suppression Systems to coordinate fire alarm interfaces and overall system performance.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Fire Protection Engineering (or a related field) is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of NFPA, local Qatar Civil Defense regulations, and relevant industry standards is an advantage.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Effective communication skills, willingness to learn, and ability to work safely in an on-site, team-oriented environment.
  • UPDA Trainee eligibility or willingness to pursue UPDA registration is beneficial.
