Job Title:
Junior Accountant
Reporting to:
Chief Accountant
Job Objectives:
To support the Finance & Accounts team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily accounting transactions, and assisting with timely reporting and compliance. The Junior Accountant will gain hands-on experience across various accounting functions and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the finance department.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system (AP, AR, GL).
- Assist with invoice preparation, billing, and follow-up on customer payments.
- Perform basic reconciliation tasks (e.g., bank, supplier, customer accounts).
- Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Assist in preparing journal entries and supporting monthly closing activities.
- Support VAT documentation and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments to collect and verify financial data.
- Help manage petty cash records and staff expense claims
- Perform ad hoc finance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of UAE VAT compliance is a plus.
- Accurate data entry and basic reconciliation skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to system-based processes.
Years of Experience:
- 2 years of accounting experience.
- Exposure to a manufacturing or project-based industry is an advantage.
