Contract type: Fixed-term contract. Please note that this position is part of the Emiratisation Program, only UAE nationals can be considered.

Language requirements: Intermediate level of English

At Eni, we are looking for a Junior Drilling Engineer to join Eni Abu Dhabi. You will develop well designs and layouts that optimise investment and uphold the highest standards of engineering integrity, safety and environmental protection. You will also draft the drilling plan and support its execution by providing engineering advice and updating the well design and execution plans as required.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare well data sheets.
  • Design and select wellhead equipment.
  • Draw up drilling programmes.
  • Obtain relevant data, carry out on-site analysis, and recommend immediate actions as necessary.
  • Conduct full engineering analyses of rig-site data and prepare regular well reports.
  • Monitor the daily progress of well operations and daily costs, compare actual costs with expenditure proposals, and recommend changes or improvements to rig work techniques.
  • Liaise with specialist contractors and suppliers, such as cement companies and drilling fluid providers.
  • Monitor safety and ensure the proper maintenance of the well.
  • Establish and administer drilling and service contracts.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of the drilling team.
  • Undertake engineering design and well planning (including development work).
  • Work with multidisciplinary professionals to evaluate the commercial viability of the well and monitor progress during drilling.

Skills and experience required:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Engineering or science degree.
  • Significant Oil & Gas drilling experience.
  • Relevant wellsite experience as a Drilling Supervisor or Well Site Engineer.

Professional Certifications:

  • Certification in drilling engineering technologies is required.

Training and Courses:

  • Specialised training in drilling engineering and HSE.
  • Landmark Drilling Suite, including WellCost.
  • Peloton WellView software for reporting.
  • Risk management in drilling operations.
  • Management of Change in drilling operations.

Required Competencies:

  • Drilling Activities: Drilling operations, mudline suspension, horizontal drilling, drilling fluids and cement operations design, general welldrilling experience.
  • Advanced Drilling: Lean profile, underbalanced drilling, coiledtubing drilling.
  • HighProfile Drilling: Extendedreach drilling, HP/HT drilling, simultaneous drilling, wellbore stability/sand production/prediction control.
  • Data management and computer literacy.
  • Competencies in completion and production optimisation engineering will be considered a preferential requirement.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, with frequent interaction across project disciplines and external institutions.
  • High level of professional and personal integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Languages:

  • Intermediate level of English.
