Sigma Engineering Works, a company of Mazrui Energy is seeking a Junior Estimation Engineer to join our Fabrication Teamin Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Responsibilities
Receipt & Review of Enquiries
- Assist in reviewing enquiries, RFQs, drawings, and specifications received from the Sales Department or clients.
- Support senior engineers in understanding scope requirements and applicable codes such as ASME, API, and ASME B31 series.
- Help prepare technical clarifications and assumptions for tender submissions.
Quantity Take-Off & Preliminary Estimation
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for:
- Pressure vessels and static equipment
- Heat exchangers and skid-mounted packages
- Piping, structural steel, and supports
- Assist in weight calculations based on drawings and specifications.
- Support preliminary cost calculations under guidance.
AutoCAD & Technical Support
- Use AutoCAD to review drawings, prepare basic layouts, and support cutting plans to optimize material usage.
- Assist in identifying scope boundaries and interfaces between mechanical and E&I works.
Material & Subcontracting Support
- Coordinate with the Procurement Department to obtain material prices and delivery information.
- Collect vendor and subcontractor quotations for fabrication, machining, NDT, PWHT, coating, E&I works, and transportation.
- Maintain quotation comparison sheets and vendor records.
Production Cost & Man-Hour Support
- Assist in collecting data related to fabrication, machining, and E&I man-hours.
- Support time and resource studies in coordination with Production and Machine Shop teams.
- Update estimation templates with productivity norms and historical data.
E&I Estimation Support
- Assist in estimating Electrical & Instrumentation scopes including:
- Instrument mounting, tubing, and hook-up
- Electrical cabling, termination, and earthing
- Basic testing and commissioning activities
- Ensure E&I quantities align with mechanical and skid layouts.
Quotation Preparation & Submission
- Assist in preparing cost sheets, BOQs, and technicalcommercial submissions.
- Support preparation of covering letters, assumptions, and exclusions.
- Ensure tender documents are compiled, checked, and submitted within deadlines.
Post-Award Handover Support
- Support documentation handover to Project Engineers after PO award.
- Assist in transferring estimation assumptions, vendor quotes, and cost breakdowns to execution teams.
Qualifications
- Education - Mechanical Engineering
- 25 years of experience in estimation, fabrication, or engineering support roles within oil & gas or industrial projects.
- Exposure to fabrication, skid packages, or E&I works is preferred.
- Basic understanding of fabrication processes, welding, and inspection activities.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for basic drafting and drawing review.
