Job Description

A Junior Instrumentation Design Engineer is an entry-level engineering professional who assists in the design, specification, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for industrial facilities such as oil & gas plants, petrochemical facilities, power plants, and manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing instrumentation design documents and drawings.
Develop instrument index, I/O lists, and cable schedules.
Support the selection and specification of field instruments such as:
Pressure transmitters
Temperature sensors
Flow meters
Level instruments
Control valves
Review P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
Prepare instrument hook-up drawings and installation details.
Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, and piping disciplines.
Support compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
Participate in technical reviews and site visits when required.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of instrumentation and control engineering principles.
Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, ISA, API).
Ability to read P&IDs and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering design software.
Understanding of PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
0 to 3 years of experience in instrumentation design or engineering projects.
