Job Description

This is a commercially important role for a rising FMCG Key Account professional who knows how to grow Modern Trade accounts, manage retailer relationships, and turn trade plans into measurable sales, margin, and shelf-impact results.

You will support the growth of assigned Modern Trade accounts across the UAE, working closely with retailers and internal teams to improve sales performance, promotional return, in-store execution, and category visibility.

What will you own

  • Manage and grow assigned Modern Trade accounts, with clear focus on sales, margin, distribution, and share-of-shelf.
  • Build strong working relationships with key retail stakeholders and support commercial discussions.
  • Develop account plans that translate business priorities into clear customer-level execution.
  • Support trade agreement cycles, including pricing, rebates, promotional terms, and retailer commitments.
  • Plan and execute promotional calendars based on sales potential, profitability, and ROI.
  • Monitor account performance, prepare business reviews, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor service levels, fill rates, stock availability, and return trends to ensure operational excellence and minimise expiries and trade returns.
  • Drive in-store execution, including availability, planogram compliance, POSM placement, and promotional visibility.
  • Use retailer portals, internal reports, and market insights to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and trade marketing to deliver account plans and new launches.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of FMCG sales or Key Account Management experience in the UAE.
  • Hands-on experience with Modern Trade accounts.
  • Strong understanding of trade agreements, promotional calendars, pricing, rebates, and trade terms.
  • Ability to manage sales performance, margins, budgets, and ROI discussions.
  • Solid exposure to in-store execution, including planograms, availability, visibility, and promotional compliance.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to prepare clear account reviews and commercial reports.
  • Confident communication skills in English, with the ability to manage retailer and internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong organisation, follow-up, and ownership mindset.
  • Experience with accounts such as Carrefour, Spinneys, Coops, petrol stations, or similar UAE retailers.
  • Exposure to health food, wellness, healthcare, or consumer goods categories

Nice to Have

  • Experience using retailer portals, ERP systems, or sales reporting tools.
  • Arabic language skills.
  • Exposure to category management or trade marketing initiatives.
  • This Role May Not Be the Right Fit If
  • You have only handled traditional trade, field sales, or merchandising without Modern Trade account exposure.
  • You are not comfortable working with numbers, ROI, sales reports, and commercial reviews.
  • You prefer a back-office sales support role rather than a customer-facing account role.
  • You struggle with follow-up, execution discipline, or cross-functional coordination.
