Job Description

Tradition is the interdealer broking arm of Compagnie Financire Tradition and one of the world's largest interdealer brokers in over-the-counter financial and commodity related products. CFT is represented in over 28 countries, employing over 2,500 people.

Tradition is currently seeking to appoint a Junior Management Accountant to be based in our Dubai office.

Main responsibilities within the Junior Management Accountant position include:

Month-End Reporting

  • Prepare and post monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, and bonus provisions
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of the month-end close following a set timetable
  • Analyse month-on-month and year-to-date variances with meaningful commentary
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate back-up and explanations
  • Compile monthly reporting for submission to Group Finance
  • Respond to finance queries from management, Group, and the wider business
  • Coordinate with overseas offices to agree intercompany balances and resolve discrepancies

Financial Accounting & Controls

  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with group policies
  • Monitor accounting standards and assess their impact on local reporting
  • Assist with audit queries and ensure documentation is readily available

Cash & Payment Management

  • Prepare daily bank reconciliations and report cash positions to management
  • Process supplier invoices and payments in line with approval and audit controls
  • Ensure timely invoice posting and resolution of payment queries
  • Manage monthly payroll and staff expense claims processing in a timely manner

Key skills, experience and competencies required to be successful in this role:

  • Solid understanding of IFRS and its practical application
  • Experience in statutory accounts preparation
  • VAT knowledge
  • Previous experience in the financial services sector
  • Strong proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Capable of assessing, designing, and implementing new processes
  • Thrives under pressure and adapts well to change
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues and reconcile discrepancies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
