Job Description

Junior Project Energy Engineer (HVAC & BMS) based in Dubai, UAE, you must be based in Dubai. Salary:- AED 7,000-9,000

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Energy Department, the Project Engineer – Energy Solutions will be part of a specialised team responsible for the development and execution of energy efficiency and retrofit projects.

This is a hybrid role combining Project Development (Pre-Sales) and Retrofit Implementation (Post-Sales). The successful candidate will be involved in identifying system inefficiencies, developing technical solutions, and supporting the execution and delivery of projects on-site.

The role requires a balance between office-based engineering, client-facing technical work, and on-site supervision, with a strong focus on HVAC systems, controls, and building automation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Development / Pre-Sales:

  • Conduct site surveys, system assessments, and support ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 energy audits
  • Analyse HVAC system performance, BMS trends, and utility data to identify inefficiencies
  • Develop technical proposals, energy-saving calculations, and retrofit solutions
  • Support preparation of technical presentations, reports, and client submissions
  • Assist in identifying and developing Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and optimization strategies.

Project Execution / Post-Sales:

  • Support implementation of retrofit projects, including site supervision and coordination
  • Monitor installation activities to ensure compliance with specifications and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and suppliers during execution and commissioning
  • Assist in testing, commissioning, and validation of system performance improvements
  • Troubleshoot system issues and support optimization of installed solutions.

System Optimization & Controls:

  • Review and optimize BMS control sequences and HVAC system performance
  • Evaluate chilled water systems, AHUs/FAHUs, FCUs, pumping systems, and district cooling interfaces
  • Identify and address issues such as low ΔT, control instability, and operational inefficiencies
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and facility teams on system optimization strategies

The Person

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Building Services Engineering

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in HVAC systems, BMS/controls, system integration, or building services projects.
  • Experience in retrofit projects, system integration, or building automation environments is preferred
  • Exposure to energy audits or energy efficiency projects is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies.
  • Knowledge of BMS systems, sequences, and building automation.
  • Ability to analyze system performance using data and operational trends
  • Familiarity with energy audits, ECMs, and retrofit strategies is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic engineering tools (AutoCAD preferred)
