Junior SecOps Engineer
Job Description
- Assist in the monitoring and management of security tools and technologies to enhance organizational security posture
- Support incident response activities by investigating alerts and helping to resolve security incidents
- Participate in routine vulnerability assessments and security audits
- Help maintain and update security documentation and procedures
- Collaborate with team members to implement security policies and procedures
- Engage in continuous learning to develop skills in SecOps and cybersecurity practices
- Assist in the maintenance of cloud infrastructures and services from a security standpoint
- Support the implementation and improvement of security monitoring solutions
- Document findings and contribute to reports on security assessments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in a security-focused role or internship
- Basic knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts and platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus
- Understanding of networking concepts, firewall management, and intrusion detection systems
- Basic scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Willingness to learn about security tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, IDS/IPS) and cloud security solutions
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) are a plus but not mandatory
