Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Security Engineer to work on-site with a customer, supporting the deployment, operation, and optimization of network and application security solutions. This role suits hands-on engineers with a solid network security foundation and exposure to WAF, WAAP, or API security technologies, who are eager to grow in application and API security.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and day-to-day operation of security solutions including Firewalls, WAF/WAAP, Server Load Balancers, and API Security platforms
- Work with technologies such as Imperva, F5, Cequence, or equivalent security tools
- Support the onboarding of applications and APIs into security platforms
- Monitor network and application security traffic, alerts, and events, and assist with initial analysis and escalation
- Support policy tuning and rule optimization to reduce false positives and improve security effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with customer Network, Security, and DevOps teams in an on-site environment
- Follow established runbooks and procedures and assist with documentation and knowledge transfer
- Act as an on-site technical support resource, working under the guidance of senior security engineers
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in Network Security, Application Security, or Security Operations
- Hands-on experience deploying or operating Firewalls, WAF/WAAP, Load Balancers, or API Security tools
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (L4L7, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS)
- Basic knowledge of API concepts such as REST, JSON, and authentication mechanisms
- Experience working in Linux-based environments
- Ability to analyze logs, traffic flows, and security alerts for troubleshooting and support
