Role Overview
We are looking for a talented and driven
Pastry Jr. Sous Chef who will support the Head Pastry Chef in overseeing daily pastry production within our Dubai operations. This role ensures operational efficiency, product consistency, food safety compliance, and team leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Support in leading, mentoring, and training junior pastry chefs and bakery team members
- Foster a positive, performance-driven, and collaborative work culture
- Oversee daily pastry section operations to ensure timely production
- Ensure full compliance with UAE food safety and hygiene regulations
Quality Control & Consistency
- Maintain the highest standards in taste, texture, and presentation
- Ensure recipe adherence and product consistency across all batches
- Conduct regular quality checks and tasting sessions
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency without compromising quality
Inventory & Cost Management
- Monitor stock levels and manage inventory effectively
- Minimize waste and maintain strong food cost control
- Coordinate with procurement for high-quality ingredient sourcing
- Support budgeting and cost alignment with operational targets
Operations & Planning
- Coordinate closely with production and dispatch teams for timely delivery
- Assist in seasonal menu launches and new product development
- Develop daily production schedules and allocate tasks accordingly
- Ensure smooth communication between kitchen sections
Qualifications
- 58 years of pastry experience in high-end, large-scale, or fine-dining operations
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Experience in high-volume production kitchens is highly preferred
- Culinary or pastry certification is a plus
Knowledge & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of pastry techniques and modern dessert trends
