Job Description Junior Systems Administrator and DevOp
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration and operation of servers, applications, and system platforms.
- Monitor system availability, performance, and logs; respond to alerts and incidents.
- Provide Level 1 / Level 2 support for system and application-related issues.
- Support backup and basic disaster recovery activities.
- Assist in system updates, patching, and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Execute basic scripts or tools to automate repetitive operational tasks.
- Assist with simple database queries for validation, reporting, or troubleshooting.
- Follow defined procedures for incident, problem, and change management.
- Document system configurations, scripts, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with senior system administrators, developers, and support teams.
- Welling to work in shifts
Required Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript)
- Basic knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server environments.
- Understanding of system administration fundamentals (services, users, permissions).
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, ports, firewalls).
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and backup concepts.
- Basic scripting or development skills such as:
- PowerShell or Bash for automation
- Basic Python or similar scripting language
- Basic SQL for querying and validating data
- Ability to read, understand, and modify simple scripts or code.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
- 02 years of experience in system administration, IT support, or a technical role.
- Hands-on labs, academic projects, or internships are acceptable.
