Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join the Karm Charge team. In this role, you will be part of the technical backbone of our EV charging network, assist in ensuring maximum uptime and reliability across all charging sites. You will work on hardware diagnostics, manage charging station software and protocols, troubleshoot system bugs, and provide support to day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Diagnostics & Maintenance
• Assist on-site repairs, component replacements, and routine preventive maintenance & Checkups.
• Coordinate with hardware vendors and technicians for advanced repairs and warranty claims while archiving and reporting.
Software Systems & Network Management
• Assist in managing and monitoring the back-end charging management systems, ensuring seamless communication between chargers and the system.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and debug errors related to charging protocols (specifically OCPP 1.6+), while documenting most repeated issues and rolling out firmware updates.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
Experience: Previous hands-on experience with EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment), power electronics, or field engineering is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, power distribution, and load management.
• Familiarity with EV charging communication protocols (OCPP).
• Ability to quickly learn.
