We are looking for a high-performing Key Account Manager to lead and grow our most strategic client relationships while driving cross-selling across our full product portfolio. This role plays a critical part in regional growth, combining strategic sales leadership with strong account management and commercial insight.
You will manage large-scale partnerships, expand the customer base, and act as a trusted advisor to key clients. Beyond sales, you will support the Sales Operations Manager in driving regional performance and mentoring the sales team in a fast-paced engineering and trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
- Manage and grow key strategic accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships and sustained revenue growth.
- Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities across the company's full product range.
Market Intelligence & Networking
- Stay informed on market trends, upcoming projects, and competitor activity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, government authorities, and key customers.
Sales Planning & Execution
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to regional sales and budget planning.
- Support the Sales Operations Manager in executing regional sales strategies.
Performance Reporting & Forecasting
- Prepare high-quality regional performance reports.
- Provide accurate monthly sales forecasts to Supply Chain and Product teams.
Financial & Credit Control
- Assess the financial reliability of new and existing customers.
- Ensure timely collections and proactively flag potential credit risks.
Leadership & Team Development
- Coach, manage, and evaluate junior sales engineers.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and performance management to build a high-performing sales team.
Business Development
- Identify and target potential customers using market data.
- Generate demand through structured visits, presentations, and solution-driven discussions.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, health & safety standards, and customer service procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 79 years in key account management, sales, or a similar commercial role.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Irrigation, Mechanical Engineering, or BA/MBA with strong trading experience.
- Industry Background: Proven experience in sales within engineering or technical trading environments.
- Leadership Exposure: Experience managing or supporting regional sales teams and working closely with Supply Chain and Operations.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of consultant, contractor, and government-driven markets.
