Role Description The Kindergarten Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, supporting classroom teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for young children. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with classroom activities, preparing learning materials, supervising children during play and routine transitions, and helping maintain a clean, organized classroom. The role involves supporting children with basic needs, encouraging positive behavior, and reinforcing lessons through interactive games and educational activities. The Kindergarten Assistant collaborates closely with teachers and school staff, communicates respectfully with families when needed, and follows all school policies and child safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings, with strong classroom support and supervision skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and kindly with children, colleagues, and families, and to model positive, respectful behavior.
  • Skills in organizing learning materials, supporting activity planning, and helping implement age-appropriate educational activities.
  • Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience when supporting children's social and emotional development and managing group dynamics.
  • Basic understanding of child development principles and a genuine interest in early childhood education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, follow guidance from lead teachers, and adapt to changing classroom needs.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma; a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written communication in the school's primary language of instruction; additional language skills are an asset.
  • Commitment to child safety, confidentiality, and adherence to school policies and professional standards.
