- Responsible for kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, chilled water systems, pumps, and boilers, including testing and maintenance.
- Attend to, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk-in coolers, freezers, ovens, etc.
- Ensure HACCP standards and Health & Safety legislation records are logged and maintained.
- Be on call for any equipment/plant emergencies and carry out PPM checks.
- Carry out all air-conditioning and refrigeration system management and servicing.
- Participate in the hotel's energy conservation and sustainability programs.
- Attend all on-the-job training in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
- Supervise the issue of tools relating to the Engineering Department and ensure their safe return.
- Be responsible for contractors working on site, including safety induction and maintaining records of all jobs undertaken.
- Accept deliveries in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Supervise the maintenance team and any external contractors employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety records are kept up to date.
- Form part of the Fire Team and assist in any emergencies that may arise.
- Monitor utility readings for the hotel to ensure effective power management.
- Stay aware of changes in regulations and environmental issues.
- Carry out other work that may reasonably be required and be available as needed.
- Oversee the team's and contractors work to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to the required standard.
