Role Description The Kitchen Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Rixos Hotels in Alamein. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing kitchen equipment and appliances to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous kitchen operations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and coordinating timely repairs to minimize downtime. The Kitchen Technician will collaborate closely with kitchen staff and management to prioritize maintenance requests, follow safety and hygiene standards, and keep accurate records of work performed and parts used. The role also involves supporting equipment upgrades, ensuring compliance with brand standards, and communicating effectively with vendors or service providers when needed.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to kitchen operations.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, hygiene regulations, and equipment maintenance standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills for working with kitchen staff, supervisors, and vendors.
• Organizational skills for managing maintenance schedules, documenting work orders, and tracking inventory of spare parts.
• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial kitchen maintenance role is highly beneficial.
• Relevant technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, according to operational needs.
